something tasty...

Hello people! Had a nice mother's day? Mine was great! Hehe! So people, about the cake I made yesterday, here's the recipe. It's a personal one. Basically, it's supposed to be made without eggs but it tastes just great.

Morinn's Veggie Honey Cake

2 large cups of flour (normal one, not self-raising)
2 tablespoons of baking powder
1 can of sweetened & condensed milk
160g of pure honey (that basically a medium container, in sale everywhere)
Half cup of liquid milk
250g of unsalted butter (keep a little for greasing)
1 drop of vanilla essense

Mix all the ingredients together in no particular order until you get a thick and smooth paste.

Things should look more or less like this!

Put the mixture in a greased bowl and put it in the oven at a heat of around 180 degrees for about 30 minutes! Enjoy! mrgreen

Everyone who uses blogger knows that it's not possible to input emos while composing the posts except if you upload the emo as a pic as I used to do before. Then refer to Celine's masterpiece I'm alive. No no guys I've not lost it, not yet that is, I'm just trying to be ironic. Hehe...

Lions in love ruining my peace of mind...

Ever had a song constantly running through your head. Especially an old song which you have not listened to for ages? Well it is happening to me right now and the song is "Love Will Find a Way", the original soundtrack of Lion King 2. Here's the lyrics, just to piss you off :P

Love Will Find a Way

In a perfect world
One we've never known
We would never need to face the world alone

They can have the world
We'll create our own
I may not be brave or strong or smart
But some where in my secret heart

I know
Love will find a way
Any where we go
I'm home
If you are there beside me

Like dark turning into day
Some how we'll come through
Now that I've found you
Love will find a way

I was so afraid
Now I realize
Love is never wrong
And so it never dies

There's a perfect world
Shining in your eyes

And if only they could feel it too
The happiness I feel with you

They'd know
Love will find a way
Any where we go
we're home
If we are there together

Like dark turning into day
Some how we'll come through
Now that I've found you
Love will find a way

I know love will find a way

Kiara and Kovu are the two characters who sing the song in the movie. Well I'm sure you did watch The Lion King you ##%$^%$! Hehe!! Here's a pic of them: ain't they cute together?

something pathetic

Just finished giving tuitions. I'm so damn tired. Got only about 3 hours of sleep last night. Sniff sniff... Today I've talked about AIDS to my students. That's why I wanted to make a post out of it. To point out that I've realised that most of them didn't know about the ways AIDS is transferred from one person to another and they were actually laughing when I was talking about it.

I'm not criticising them, nor are they to be blamed for finding AIDS funny. Their behaviour just reflects the social environment in which they were brought up. We live in a society (this does not only apply to Mauritius) which has been conditioned not to take ailments seriously. We consider disasters, catastrophes, diseases as being so far out of reach of our peaceful, calm life. But of course, we love to hear tales of someone else's problems but we do not consider getting involved, doing something to eradicate evils.

I don't know why I am talking about this right now at D-3 to my exams nor do I feel that I myself am involved in something constructive about the wiping out of social evils. In a sense I am criticising myself; my lack of passion, my indifference to things that touch me but which I refuse to let under my skin. And here I was criticising NGOs about their lack of organisation. At least they are up to something and I wish them the bast of luck.

We indeed need forces that can put words into actions, ideas into deeds, thoughts into results. This is a post for Godspeed. I guess Godspeed will just have to wait.

So long. Don't comment if you don't feel like or have nothing to say. I'll understand. It's one of my rare posts that is not good-humoured and I apologise.

Well here's something jovial:

Zinnias, a success story!

Let me tell you guys about the zinnia story. For all those who don't know what a zinnia is, it is a flower. It comes in different colors and sizes. I've got pics of them for once!! woohoo! Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
these are some freshly picked zinnias! I've got a soft spot for the red ones. Hihi. So for those who were wondering what I was up to during those 2 weeks of absence, well, here's part of the answer. I've been gardening. Not the type of gardening that I used to do before (planting grass, weeding, boring). I've been adding colors to my garden.

I've been in fact, experimenting with seeds bought from a popular super duper market found in Grand Bay (I can't be more precise than this ) The brand of the seeds is V*lmor*n, replace the * by "i". (notice the presence of "morin" in the name, hihi)

This is a picture of the zinnias in the vegetable patch (notice the brede giraumon). I'm going to move them to the side garden, approximately there:Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
and that will fulfill my want for more colors in the green-only gardenPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
some pictures of the garden! showing off? of course! haha... hey this is my work buddies so I fully deserve this tribute to myself . Anyway, hope the zinnias will add some colors to it!

Long post isn't it? Lol but it'll come to an end, don't worry.

And now for the last...Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
That's it ladies and gents and my colorful aliens! So long!
